Job summary

Renewal Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking an Assessment Specialist-Outpatient AOD to schedule and complete diagnostic assessments for clients in the outpatient program.

The role coordinates referrals, determines level of care, and ensures proper documentation and authorization are in place. This position requires knowledge of DSM criteria, ICD-10/DSM-V codes, and co-occurring disorders, plus strong writing and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of DSM Diagnostic Criteria and required assessment tools.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 Codes and DSM-V for billing and documentation.
• Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and substance dependence.
• Proficient computer skills; strong writing and interpersonal abilities.
• Bachelor's Degree with minimum two years' experience; Act 33/34 required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and complete AOD diagnostic assessments for clients referred to Renewal outpatient program.
• Make recommendations for level of care and coordinate referrals with documentation and authorization.
• Communicate information between clients, referral sources, finance, counselors and Case Managers to meet the plan of care.
• Assist with scheduling initial appointments and follow-up referrals; ensure services are funded and authorized.
