Job summary

Gosnold, Inc. in Wareham, MA is seeking an Outpatient Intake Coordinator for a 40-hour workweek in our outpatient programs.

You will collect and review referral information, determine admission suitability, verify insurance, and enter data into the electronic health record system to support timely access to care. We value strong customer service, sensitivity, and multi-tasking as you respond to inquiries from patients, families, and providers.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Experience: Ability to use a computer and web-based programs.
• Skills: Strong customer service orientation.
• Skills: Knowledge of electronic data systems.
• Skills: Ability to accurately enter data into an electronic health record system.
• Skills: Ability to multi-task and service multiple callers.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and communicate with patients and referents.
• Respond promptly to inquiries about outpatient programs.
• Collect and interpret referral and demographic information for admission decisions.
• Determine payer status and verify insurance before admission.
• Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
• Initiate financial discussions and coordinate with billing.
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, billing, and program teams.
• Explain Gosnold’s continuum of care and referral options.
• Stay aware of key referral sources and prioritize requests.
• Respond to general information requests and direct to resources.
• Participate as an active intake team member.
• Interface with leadership and external partners professionally.
• Support process improvements and data reporting.
• Understand addiction/mental health systems and levels of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
