Snowshoe Mountain is seeking a senior kitchen leader for a flex, year-round role in Snowshoe, WV. You will oversee up to 30 positions, manage kitchen operations, quality, and admin functions under the Executive Chef.

The role emphasizes high-volume service, food cost management, and menu relevance, with opportunities to train staff and develop the team in a resort setting.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in a related kitchen role.
• Food Cost Management.
• Intermediate food hygiene qualification.
• Proficient knife handling and culinary equipment operation.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• Two+ years of post-high school education preferred; culinary education desirable.
• West Virginia Food Handlers Certificate required.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulations, control costs, and maintain our standards.
• Keep team updated on menus, promotions, and events.

• Maintain food control systems/margins and menu relevance with the Executive Chef.
• Perform assigned duties as needed.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Leadership

• Overseeing up to 30 positions directly (Sous Chef, Line Cooks, Utility Workers).
• Recruit, hire, train, manage, and develop kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen operations, quality, and admin functions.
• Foster good communication and relationships across the Snowshoe Mountain.
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
• Flexible and resilient attitude towards work situations.

Preferred Experience

• Managing a high volume quick turnaround kitchen with ticket times of less than 20 minutes
• Five+ years in a related role.
• Food Cost Management
• Intermediate food hygiene qualification.
• Proficient knife handling and culinary equipment operation.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.

Education

• Two+ years of post-high school education preferred, culinary education desirable.
• Resort experience preferred.
• West Virginia Food Handlers Certificate required.
