Alterra Mountain Company in Snowshoe, WV is hiring for kitchen leadership roles, including Sous Chef and Line Cooks, to oversee operations, ensure quality, and manage staff.

The role requires early mornings, weekends, and holidays; on-mountain housing, free skiing, medical, 401(k), and employee discounts are offered to eligible team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• West Virginia Food Handlers Certificate is required.
• Two+ years of post-high school education; culinary education desirable.
• Resort experience preferred.
• Proficient in knife handling and use of ovens, grills, broilers, sauté pans, fryers.
• Knowledgeable in safe food handling practices.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate staff.
• Capable of working effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

• Seek and respond to customer feedback promptly
• Ensure resources meet business needs
• Manage food provision and compliance with legislation
• Control costs, improve profit margins, and meet financial targets
• Keep team updated on menu items, promotions, and events
• Maintain good communication and relationships across the hotel
• Manage staffing levels to meet business demands
• Conduct monthly meetings and generate minutes
• Address staff performance issues per company policies
• Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff
• Comply with safety, health, and food safety regulations
• Address maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues promptly
• Align financial performance with resort objectives
• Adhere to food control systems to meet margin targets
• Review menus with Executive Chef to align with trends and objectives
• Promote environmental awareness
• Perform other related duties as assigned
