Job summary

Carter Lumber in Salem is seeking a helpful Yard Associate to assist customers, load orders, and stage materials for pickup or delivery. You will maintain yard organization, perform cycle counts, and support team members in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Training for forklift operation will be provided if needed.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience, a friendly attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality is essential.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.
• Ability to be a team player.
• Ability to work outside in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selection and loading of their order.
• Pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered.
• Help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts.
• Keep the Yard organized and clean.
• Operate a forklift; training provided if needed.
