Job summary

Stake Center Locating is hiring entry level Locate Technicians to locate underground utilities, troubleshoot, and mark the ground. We will train you on the job and equip you with basic skills to be successful in our 100% paid training. You must enjoy outdoor work and be able to problem solve quickly and accurately.

We offer a paid training program since 1997, a company vehicle with a fuel card, PTO and holidays, safety shoe vouchers, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

Qualifications

• Age 18+ and authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles per day 2–3 times a week.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs or 75 lbs with aid; carry equipment up to 5 lbs.
• Pass pre-employment background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Think Safety First in all tasks.
• Use a laptop to receive, document and process tickets and email.
• Read maps, interpret blueprints, and determine best locating method and sequence.
• Use locating equipment to accurately locate underground utilities.
• Communicate effectively with peers, managers, and homeowners.
