Job summary

USIC is hiring locator technicians to locate underground utilities across the North Shore and Northwest Suburbs. No prior locating experience required, but experienced locators are encouraged to apply.

Starting pay is $21.00 per hour, with higher rates up to $33.00 per hour for experienced fieldwork. As a field locator, you will work independently in the field using a company vehicle, perform precise mark-outs, and document each locate.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology and field devices.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Read and reference locate tickets, maps and prints.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities accurately and safely.
• Mark the location and document each locate with photos.
