Job summary

USIC is seeking locators for the North Shore and Northwest Suburbs of Illinois. You will locate underground utilities using company vehicles, document each locate, and communicate findings clearly to customers and crews.

Starting at $21/hour for new locators, with higher rates up to $33/hour for experienced locators, this long-term role offers paid training, a company vehicle, and extensive benefits to support growth and safety.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology and field devices.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Able to distinguish wiring colors and mark utilities.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Correctly locate underground utilities in designated areas and mark locations.
• Complete necessary documentation and photograph each locate.
