Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer to join our utility line clearance team serving Akron, Tallmadge and Ravenna. The role is on-site with a focus on safe tree pruning and removal for major electrical utilities.

You’ll climb, prune, and remove limbs using guided systems, while maintaining equipment and collaborating with a crew and foreperson. Training and certifications are provided on hire.

Qualifications

• Requires love of the outdoors and ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required; CDL with Air Brake Endorsement preferred.
• Preferred: ISA/CNTTC/TCIA certifications and related licenses where state law requires it.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems.
• Perform all pruning and removal tasks for utility clients.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged branches.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, or other objects.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground support and foreperson.
