Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester/Work Planner to support vegetation management for utility corridors. The role combines field patrol, records handling, and stakeholder engagement, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate will hold an associate or bachelor’s in forestry or related field, have GIS and Microsoft Office proficiency, and be able to work independently outdoors in varied conditions. A valid license and driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in forestry, natural resources, or related field.
• Experience in forestry/arboriculture preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification.
• Ability to learn new computer programs (GIS/MS Office).
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol: Organize records, maps, and paperwork; review sites for habitats and vegetation.
• Field Patrol: Safely patrol energy corridors; identify vegetation for pruning/removal; assess tree risk.
• Engagement: Communicate work plans to landowners, agencies, and organizations; obtain permissions.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: Recommend IVM strategies; audit contractor work; document outages.
• Coordination & Safety: Coordinate non-routine work; report safety concerns; follow safety protocols.
• Additional Responsibilities: Participate in storm/emergency response; perform other duties.
