Eocene Environmental Group, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to work outdoors with utility clients, property owners, and contractors, ensuring safe and sustainable vegetation management practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and professional development in a nationwide growth environment. Candidates should have forestry education or related experience and be prepared to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Degree in forestry or related field; utility line clearance experience.
• Species identification and invasive species knowledge; tree growth rates.
• ISA Arborist Certification within 12 months.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service.
• Willingness to travel in rugged conditions.
• Map navigation skills.
• MS Office and data collection software; GIS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contact property owners and agencies about pruning/removals.
• Conduct tree and brush inventories.
• Perform hazard tree inspections and evaluations.
• Plan work for tree contractors.
• Gather and manage field data including species, size, distance from conductors.
• Validate data across databases to ensure accurate reporting.
• Verify that summaries and charts reflect underlying data.
• Ensure safety of employees and the public around work areas.
• Enforce safety practices on the job.
• Carry and use materials, tools, and equipment on site.
• Service and maintain trucks and equipment, keeping them orderly.
