Job summary

Gertens Family of Businesses in Eagan, MN is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow wholesale relationships and drive territory revenue.

You will manage an existing book of business, meet sales goals, visit customers, and develop new opportunities, with field support and events.

This role requires 3–5 years of outside sales in the green industry, an associate degree preferred, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; compensation is $58k–$80k plus commission.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Horticulture or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of outside sales experience preferred in green industry.
• Strong knowledge of plant materials, turf, landscape maintenance.
• Experience estimating, presenting, and selling enhancement projects.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Spanish language skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and expand wholesale customer relationships to drive growth.
• Meet or exceed sales goals across wholesale product lines and expand opportunities.
• Conduct regular customer visits to assess needs and satisfaction.
• Prospect for new business outside existing accounts.
• Collaborate with customers to develop solutions and provide timely follow-up.
• Present proposals, estimates, and enhancements to customers and management.
• Work with vendors, buyers, and internal teams to optimize offerings.
• Process sales orders and related paperwork accurately.
• Support and mentor team members with product knowledge and best practices.
• Assist with marketing initiatives, trade shows, and company events.
• Attend department meetings and contribute to sales success.
