Job summary

Lewis Tree Service seeks a Trimmer to support utility vegetation management, tree trimming, and line clearing for clients including utility companies. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and training, with opportunities for advancement and a strong ESOP culture.

You'll perform ground-level and elevated pruning, operate chainsaws and related equipment, and travel as needed. Valid CDL/medical certs and CPR/First Aid are required or provided by Lewis.

Qualifications

• 12+ months experience on tree crews as a Trimmer Trainee.
• Basic knowledge of tree species and arboriculture pruning techniques.
• Ability to work at heights and use climbing gear or aerial lifts.
• Trimmer Technical Knowledge and Skills Certification or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license, CDL, and medical certification as required.
• CPR and First Aid certified (provided by Lewis).
• Acquire and keep required training/licenses for safe herbicide use.
• Strong teamwork, communication and situational awareness.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform ground-level and elevated pruning, felling, and vegetation removal to maintain clearance around power lines.
• Operate chainsaws, chippers, and similar equipment; manage limb and equipment lowering.
• Assist with job site setup, rigging, traffic control and site cleanup.
• Support site safety by spotting and assisting climbers and noting hazards.
• Apply herbicides per company guidelines and law.
• Drive and operate trucks and specialized equipment (certification required).
• Participate in briefings and follow safety protocols.
• Travel for work, including overnight stays.
