Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC in Kingsport, TN seeks entry-level and skilled Tree Trimmers and Climbers to join our outdoor crews. You’ll be trained on the job and help clear vegetation around power lines in all weather conditions, trimming, topping, and shaping trees to maintain safe clearance.

The position offers full-time, non-exempt status with hourly pay based on experience. Our team works nationwide with strong benefits and career growth opportunities in the line clearance industry.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time.
• Able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces.
• Ability to identify tree and shrub species.
• No fear of heights.
• Good hand-to-eye coordination.
• Willing to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or from the ground using saws and pruners.
• Uses wedges, sledges, and chainsaws in felling trees and cutting logs.
• Operate and service required tools/equipment and coordinate work.
• Obtain access to properties, explain work, and coordinate with customers.
• Promote good customer relations and maintain public safety around work areas.
• Load/unload trucks, feed brush into chippers, and perform related maintenance tasks.
• Assist in training new employees and participate in safety practices.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Entry-level position, no experience required.

Previous experience is a plus.
