Job summary

ArborMetrics Solutions, LLC is seeking a Transmission Forester to join our vegetation management team. This role involves outdoor field patrols along energy corridors, evaluating vegetation, and determining pruning, removal, or protection actions in alignment with client standards.

You will engage with landowners and agencies, document findings, and ensure safety practices are followed while adhering to ANSI and ISA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related discipline (education may be required depending on client contract).
• Experience in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture or tree-related green industry preferred.
• Knowledge of tree identification; GIS software/technology and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong problem solving and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Patrol Preparation: organize records, maps, and paperwork; review sites for endangered species and sensitive habitats.
• Field Patrol Duties: safely patrol energy corridors; prune, remove, or protect vegetation per client standards; conduct Tree Risk Assessments.
• Landowner & Stakeholder Engagement: use maps to identify boundaries; obtain permissions from landowners/public agencies; communicate work plans.
• Vegetation Management & Compliance: recommend sustainable strategies; audit contractor work; investigate tree-related outages and document findings.
• Coordination & Safety: coordinate non-routine work; report safety concerns; follow safety protocols; operate vehicles.
• Additional Responsibilities: participate in storm and emergency response; perform other duties as assigned.
