Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company’s Stratton resort is seeking an Outdoor Technician to maintain exterior resort areas and support event setups. The role is full-time with year-round opportunities, offering $20.00–$22.00/hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities include snow removal, landscaping, daily task coordination with supervisors, and assisting indoor teams when needed. Must be 18+, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Experience with snow removal and/or landscaping is a plus.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with snow removal around the resort: shoveling, plowing, ice chipping, salting, and sanding.
• Landscaping duties such as mowing lawns, tree trimming, mulching, weed eating, and bed maintenance.
• Assist in setup, maintenance and breakdown of events.
• Coordinate daily and weekly tasks with supervisors and shift leads.
• Assist indoor custodial teams when business volumes require.
• Prepare reports of daily logs and incidents.
• Manage and maintain vehicles, tools, and inventory of supplies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Outdoor Technician will be responsible for upkeep of exterior resort areas. The Outdoor Technician will work closely with the Resort Appearance Manager, department supervisors, and janitorial team. The primary goal of the position is to ensure the resort remains safe, clean, and maintained for all resort guests and employees. This is a full-time position with seasonal and year-round opportunities, compensated between $20.00-$22.00/hr, based on experience.

Recruitment for this role will be ongoing through December.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assist with snow removal around the resort: shoveling, plowing, ice chipping, salting, and sanding
• Landscaping duties such as: mowing lawns, tree trimming, mulching, weed eating, weeding beds, shoveling, etc.
• Helping with the setup, maintenance and break down of events
• Coordinating daily and weekly tasks with supervisors and shift leads
• Help with daily setup and breakdown of all lodge area's
• Empty trash bins, recycling bins, compost bins and pick up ground litter around the resort
• Prepare reports of daily logs and incidents
• Attend department safety meetings
• Manage and maintain vehicles, tools, and keep inventory of supplies
• Assist indoor custodial teams when business volumes require: cleaning windows, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash bins, painting, etc.
• Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required
• Experience with snow removal and/or landscaping is a plus
• Valid Driver's license
• Must be 18+ years of age
• Reliable attendance
• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Positive attitude
• Ability to work both independently and/or as a member of a team
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
