Job summary

The City of Lenexa is actively hiring a Street Maintenance Worker I in the Public Works/Municipal Services team. This entry-level role focuses on street and trail maintenance, with on-the-job training and the potential to earn a CDL through the career track program.

Base responsibilities include asphalt and concrete work, snow/ice control, and operating a range of heavy equipment. The position offers a stable 40-hour week and progressive certification opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Class A CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements.
• Work Zone Safety Certification including Flagger; obtain within 180 days.

Responsibilities

• Milling, removal, crack sealing, base repairs and pothole patching on roadways.
• Concrete sidewalk and curb repair, leveling and replacement.
• Snow/ice removal on city roadways and parking lots.
• Operate trucks and heavy equipment; perform routine inspection and basic maintenance.
• Respond to snow and ice events and other emergencies as needed.
