Job summary

The City of Lenexa is seeking a Stormwater Maintenance Worker I in Lenexa, KS to maintain storm drainage infrastructure. On-the-job training is provided and the city will help you earn a CDL. Work is performed with a small crew and includes operating diverse equipment.

Essential duties include maintenance of drains and channels, vegetation management, and participation in the career track program to reach levels II and III. Benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or two years of related work experience.
• Valid Class A CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Work Zone Safety Certification (Flagger) required.
• NIMS IS-100 and IS-700 training within three months.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on storm drainage systems and related infrastructure.
• Operate equipment including dump trucks, loaders, and backhoes.
• Assist in vegetation management and erosion control projects.
• Participate in safety checks and pre-operation inspections.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Two years of experience in construction or landscape-related field

Tools

CDL Class A with air brake and tanker endorsements

NIMS IS-100 training
