Job summary

REI Co-op in Durham is seeking a Store Sales Specialist to help customers, share product knowledge, and engage with shoppers daily while supporting the REI 100% customer satisfaction guarantee through transactions, memberships and service.

You will keep the store looking inviting and merchandised, stay ahead of trends, and build relationships with customers. This role rewards strong communication, flexibility, and a hands-on approach to delivering great outdoor experiences.

Qualifications

• Store retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to business needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions about products, memberships, and including special tickets sales.
• Maintain visual standards with store management, merchandising, and sales leads.
• Engage in REI Sales & Service Training and promote REI goods and services.
• Support store pick-up, including receiving and processing products.
• Follow REI loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
