Job summary

High Steel Structures in Lancaster, PA, part of The High Companies, is hiring a 3rd-shift Outdoor Industrial Skilled Laborer. You will perform duties at splice sections of steel bridge girders, operate MI Jack, and guide loading operations. This role requires reading/writing and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

The position offers a 25% shift differential, Mon–Thu, 8:30pm–7:00am, with benefits and opportunities to grow within a longstanding steel fabrication group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Willingness to work outdoors 100% of the time in all weather conditions.
• Previous steel erection or general labor experience preferred.
• Rigging experience desired.
• Experience using hand and power tools, including drills.
• Forklift certification desired or willingness to obtain.
• Valid PA driver's license required.
• Prior truck driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating yard crane or travel lift is a plus.
• Willingness to learn Mi-Jack equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Pre-punch or pre-drilled holes at splice sections of steel bridge girders.
• Match marks on plates as necessary.
• Guide MI Jack; chain products to trucks; set blocking for loading and storing.
• Assist with onsite iron work duties.
• Use electric drills to drill holes where needed.

We are currently hiring for a 3rd-shift Outdoor Industrial Skilled Laborer, in Lancaster, PA.

Third-shift coworkers receive a 25% shift differential, and work 4 nights per week, Mon-Thurs, 8:30pm - 7:00am.

Description:

• Will Perform all required duties to pre-punch or pre-drilled holes at splice section of steel bridge girders.
• Will match mark plates, as necessary.
• Will walk with and guide the MI Jack; chain products to trucks; set blocking for loading and storing products.
• Will assist with onside iron work duties.
• Will be responsible to use electric drills to drill holes where needed.

Our next co-worker will ideally possess the following:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Willingness work outdoors, 100% of the time, in all weather conditions, is required.
• Previous steel erection (iron worker) or general laborer experience preferred.
• Previous rigging experience desired.
• Experience using hand and power tools, include drills.
• Forklift certification desired, or willingness to obtain while on the job.
• A valid PA driver's license is required.
• Prior experience in truck driving preferred
• Experience operating a yard crane or travel lift a plus
• Willingness to learn and operate Mi-Jack equipment
• The ability to read, write, and follow directions.
