Job summary

Hartville Hardware is seeking an Outdoor Power Shop Coordinator in Hartville, OH. This part-time, hourly role supports our Outdoor Power Repair shop, moving equipment and parts, and ensuring steady workflow.

Evening and Saturday availability is expected, with safe forklift operation and hands-on mechanical work. The ideal candidate has an interest in small engine repair, strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to drive a forklift.
  • Small engine repair and maintenance knowledge.
  • Able to lift 70 pounds continuously.
  • Able to climb an 8-foot ladder and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Stage equipment for service technicians and rental department throughout the day.
  • Prepare the triage process for incoming equipment.
  • Help check in and load/unload equipment at the counter.

Service Manager Work Environment This role works throughout our Outdoor Power Repair shop and staging areas, moving equipment and parts in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. Some evening and Saturday availability is required, along with the ability to safely operate a forklift.

Position Overview

The Outdoor Power Shop Coordinator helps our repair area run efficiently, safely, and cleanly. You'll work closely with our technicians and drivers to keep parts and "next up" equipment moving throughout the day, so the shop never loses momentum.

This role is a great fit for someone with an interest in small engine repair and a general understanding of how outdoor power equipment operates. Above all, we're looking for a dedicated person with a genuine "get your hands dirty" work ethic, quick adaptability, and a desire to serve fellow team members and guests.

What You Will Do
Shop & Equipment Flow
  • Stage equipment for service technicians and the rental department throughout the day
  • Prepare the triage process for incoming equipment
  • Help check in and load/unload equipment as needed at the counter
Shop Cleanliness & Organization
  • Help keep staging areas clean and organized
  • Clean incoming and outgoing equipment
Parts & Support
  • Pick up needed parts for technicians and the parts department
  • Observe all safety and security procedures, using equipment properly and reporting potentially unsafe conditions
  • Perform additional duties at the direction of the shop foreman or service manager
Core Competencies
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Interest in and general understanding of small engine repair and how outdoor power equipment operates.
  • Work Ethic: A hands-on, "whatever it takes" approach and willingness to pitch in wherever the shop needs help.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a quick-paced environment and adjusting quickly as priorities change throughout the day.
  • Independence: Able to take on tasks with little to no supervision and follow through reliably.
  • Safety & Integrity: Consistently follows safety and security procedures and upholds company core values in daily work.
