Required Availability Wednesday Saturday Evenings until 7 PM Wednesday and Saturday availability is required at a minimum. Additional days and evenings based on scheduling needs.

Position Overview

As a Sales Team Member in the Clothing & Housewares department at Hartville Hardware, you are a go-to resource for guests navigating one of our most varied and high-traffic departments. From clothing to vacuums, small appliances, and kitchenware, you bring product knowledge and genuine friendliness to every interaction.

This role is equally about people and organization. You will help guests find exactly what they need while also keeping the department well-stocked, clean, and ready to shop — including managing incoming shipments and restocking from the warehouse. If you enjoy a consistent routine, take satisfaction in a well-run department, and genuinely like helping people, this is a great fit.

Essential Duties Guest Service & Sales

• Assist guests with questions about clothing, housewares, and food products — including vacuums, small appliances, and kitchenware
• Help guests select the right product for their needs with confidence and product knowledge
• Provide a friendly, welcoming experience throughout every interaction on the floor

Stocking & Inventory

• Stock shelves from incoming shipments — particularly on Tuesdays and Thursdays with our primary supplier, Do it Best
• Regularly put away overstock from the department floor and the lower warehouse area
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised department at all times

Product Knowledge

• Learn and develop an in-depth understanding of department products in order to confidently serve guests
• Stay current on new products, promotions, and inventory through regular training and team collaboration

What We Are Looking For

• Previous retail sales experience is a plus — but not required
• A friendly, people-oriented personality with a genuine desire to help guests
• Comfortable working independently and taking on tasks with minimal direction
• Thrives in routine work and takes pride in a consistently well-run department
• Availability for Wednesday and Saturday shifts at a minimum; willingness to work evenings until 7:00 PM
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs continuously
• Ability and willingness to climb an 8-foot ladder for stocking and organization
