Job summary

Carpenter Hotel in Austin, TX is seeking a friendly Parking Attendant to manage a 52-space outdoor parking lot and welcome guests. This role is not a valet position and requires standing and working outside in all weather. You’ll help guests, coordinate with the Front Desk, and ensure smooth parking flow between hotel guests and restaurant patrons.

Ideal candidates have strong communication, customer service skills, and the ability to stay organized during busy periods. Tips are allowed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with Front Desk staff
• Comfortable using mobile devices and communication tools provided by the hotel
• Ability to make quick decisions and stay organized during busy periods
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
• Able to walk, stand, lift, and move throughout the property for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage availability within our 52-space parking lot
• Direct vehicles and assist guests with parking questions
• Coordinate parking inventory between hotel guests and restaurant patrons
• Conduct regular audits of the parking lot to ensure proper use and occupancy
• Communicate in real time with Front Desk assisting guests register
• Deliver exceptional customer service and represent the hotel in a friendly, professional manner
• Occasionally assist guests with luggage and escorting belongings to guest rooms
• Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns affecting the parking lot
• Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors
