Job summary

The Carpenter Hotel in Austin, TX is seeking a friendly Parking Attendant to help manage our 52-space parking lot and create a welcoming arrival experience for guests. This outdoor role requires standing and walking in varying weather, with on-site coordination between hotel guests and restaurant patrons.

Responsibilities include directing vehicles, assisting guests, and maintaining safety and order while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
• Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with Front Desk staff
• Comfortable using mobile devices and communication tools provided by the hotel
• Ability to make quick decisions and stay organized during busy periods
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently; comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
• Able to walk, stand, lift, and move throughout the property for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift and carry luggage up to 40 pounds
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout the property as needed

The Carpenter Hotel is looking for a friendly, dependable Parking Attendant to help manage our 52-space parking lot and create a welcoming arrival experience for our guests.

This is not a valet position. Our parking operation is managed directly by the hotel, and the Parking Attendant is responsible for monitoring lot availability, assisting guests, and ensuring parking flows smoothly between overnight hotel guests and restaurant visitors. Tips are permitted and may be accepted from guests. This role is completely outdoors and requires standing, walking, and working outside for the duration of the shift in a variety of weather conditions.

The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. All Bunkhouse employees are expected to greet all guests in close proximity and make each feel important by providing a genuine welcome. Furthermore, they must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values and reputation in the public eye.

Opened in fall 2018, this South Austin hotel is one with its lush surroundings. Carpenter Hotel features a pool with a community deck and Q Hut pavilion. Each of its 93 rooms comes with a terrace.
