Job summary

Weslacotx is seeking a Parks Maintenance worker to perform maintenance, construction, custodial duties, and grounds keeping in city parks, fields, and cemetery areas. You will support mowing, pruning, irrigation, and restroom upkeep, ensuring safe playing surfaces and clean facilities.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, a valid Texas driver license, and readiness to work flexible hours, weekends, or evenings as needed. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Up to 1–3 years of related work experience in parks/grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective and efficient work production.
• Enforce field playability standards and weather policy.
• Perform park/grounds maintenance: mowing, edging, fertilizing, pruning trees and shrubs, weed control, irrigation maintenance, and keeping surfaces safe and playable.
• Mulching of playgrounds and landscaped areas.
• Operate irrigation control systems and use chemicals safely on fields.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools.
• Groom and maintain cemetery grounds including mowing and debris removal.
• Process work orders and complete incident and accident reports as required.
• Assist with events and coordinate with leagues to ensure smooth operations.
