Bermex is hiring a Meter Reader DOT to read gas, electric, and water meters and to inspect meters on customer premises. This outdoor role involves significant walking, driving, and navigating in all weather conditions.

A valid driver’s license and high school diploma are required; DOT background checks may be involved. You will perform cycle readings, report issues, and use meters and devices, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year with the same employer or 6+ months working outdoors.
• DOT background checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Read meters daily or on a customer’s premises for service bills.
• Inspect meters and report damage or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Walk and stand for long portions of the day in various weather conditions.
• Use meter reading devices and common hand tools to access meters.
