Job summary

Sun Communities, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to help keep our apartment and manufactured home communities well maintained.

You will perform routine repairs, inspect irrigation and plumbing, carry out grounds maintenance, and provide friendly, professional service to residents at all times. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least 6 months of maintenance experience, snow removal experience if applicable, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and basic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months maintenance experience preferred.
• 6 months snow removal experience preferred (if applicable).
• 6 months general maintenance knowledge and repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Basic computer proficiency (email/internet).
• Ability to work on-call schedule.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and routine maintenance to keep Sun's communities in good condition.
• Handle minor repairs in rental homes and facilities.
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Maintain vacant sites, including trash removal.
• Snow removal where applicable using plow equipment and salt as needed.
• Mow, trim, and care for lawns, plants, and hedges; manage landscaping tasks.
• Keep streets and access routes hazard-free.
• Test water systems and meters; read/repair meters as needed.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Complete site condition checklists before/after occupancy.
• Maintain pool, vehicles, and equipment; ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Supervise service contractors as needed.
• Assist with move-in/move-out spot checks.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
