Job summary

The Downtown Maintenance team in Brownsville is seeking a Maintenance Worker I to perform street, grounds, and facility upkeep under supervision. You will repair, paint, and maintain various structures, signs, and drainage, while ensuring safety and compliance with city and state rules.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, the ability to operate tools in all weather, and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Maintains streets/roadways and right of way according to procedures.
• Performs routine landscaping duties (mowing, trimming, etc.).
• Follows safety rules, policies, and local/state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Operates tools and equipment in all weather and schedules.
• Maintains green areas and facilities in clean, neat condition.
• Repairs, paints, and maintains structures and signage as directed.
• Inspects equipment and reports defects daily.
