Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Farm Guide to develop and support outdoor learning opportunities at the Bowers School Farm in Bloomfield Hills. You will lead part-time staff and volunteers across nature centers, farms, and park facilities, delivering hands‑on programs that invite discovery, engagement, and stewardship.

The role requires six months of supervisory or leadership experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays in varying outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with six months supervisory/administrative experience in park, recreation, or program setting.
• Experience leading part-time staff and volunteers preferred.
• Valid US driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• supervise 1–40 staff per shift, depending on assignment and schedule.
• Lead outdoor learning programs across parks and farms.
• Design and deliver engaging learning experiences guiding participants from discovery to stewardship.
• Manage program logistics, safety, and customer service during events.
• Coordinate schedules, training, and performance for part-time staff and volunteers.
