Job summary

Oakland County Parks and Recreation seeks a part-time programs supervisor to assist in staff supervision, scheduling, budget records, and purchasing supplies for park services. The role supports the development and implementation of recreational programs and events while enhancing the department's public image.

The position requires supervision of staff and volunteers, coordination of programs, and participation in emergency response planning and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Be 18 years old.
• Have at least six months of full-time equivalent supervisory/administrative experience, preferably in parks/recreation.
• Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responds to inquiries of park patrons and the general public, in person or by phone or mail.
• Interacts with on-site vendors and maintenance staff to ensure customer service, safety and upkeep.
• Researches, designs, develops, and implements recreational programs for Oakland County Parks and Recreation.
• Provides leadership to part-time staff and volunteers during programs and events.
• Maintains records and participates in cash audits and revenue reporting.
• Coordinates schedules for part-time staff and volunteers and assists in hiring, training, and evaluation.
