Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Farm Guide to advance park activation by developing and supporting outdoor learning opportunities at park sites and farms. The role leads part-time staff and volunteers, designs experiences for participants, and ensures high-quality hands-on learning across nature centers, farms, and facilities.

Responsibilities include directing programs, coordinating schedules, and engaging with the community while working weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Have at least six (6) months of full-time equivalent experience in a supervisor role.
• Must possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Experience in park, recreation and/or program setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to part-time staff and volunteers during programs, field experiences, and events.
• Schedule, supervise, and appraise performance of staff (1–40 depending on shift).
• Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
• Utilize countywide software to support planning, coordination, evaluation, and reporting of activities.
