Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is hiring for a labor position in New Jersey. The role involves outdoor work, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating basic equipment. You will assist with site setup, traffic control, and routine vehicle/equipment maintenance.

The role requires 18+ years old, legal work status in the U.S., and may prefer some equipment experience and a valid driver's license. Employment is full-time with a schedule Mon-Sat and a 6:30 AM-3:00 PM shift.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
At least 1 year of relevant labor experience preferred.
Able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, temperatures, dust, fumes and loud noises.
Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
Experience operating equipment is a plus.
Valid Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

General construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, pulling.
Perform traffic control by guiding vehicles and equipment to appropriate areas and placing signs and cones.
Communicate effectively with drivers, employees, and management via handheld radios and CBs.
Perform site clean-up.
Clean up of vehicles and equipment as needed.
Drive employees to their work stations as needed.
Fuel vehicles and equipment.
Set up/secure wind fences and landfill coverings.
Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE.
Perform other duties assigned by manager as necessary.
