Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is hiring for a general labor role at our Connecticut site. The position involves outdoor work, basic construction tasks, and supporting the landfill and site operations with responsible handling of equipment and safety procedures.

Requirements include being at least 18, able to lift 50 pounds, and willing to work in various weather conditions. Prior labor experience is preferred and training is provided to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• 1 year of relevant labor experience preferred.
• Able to work outdoors in variable weather and conditions.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
• Experience operating equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• General construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, pulling.
• Traffic control and vehicle/equipment guidance.
• Clear communication with drivers, employees, and management.
• Site clean-up and equipment/vehicle cleaning.
• Drive employees to workstations and fuel vehicles/equipment.
• Set up wind fences and landfill coverings as needed.
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear PPE.
