Job summary

Interstate Waste Services, Inc. is seeking a laborer to support site operations in New Jersey. The role covers general construction tasks, traffic control, vehicle and equipment prep, and moving materials on a landfill site.

The position requires working outdoors, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to communicate with drivers and team members. Sunday through Monday night shift; OSHA PPE is provided and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant labor experience.
• Able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
• Able to work outdoors in variable weather and conditions.

Responsibilities

• General construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, pulling.
• Perform traffic control including guiding vehicles and equipment.
• Effective communication with drivers, employees, and management via radios/CBs.
• Site clean-up and vehicle/equipment cleaning as needed.
• Drive employees to work stations as needed; fuel vehicles and equipment.
• Set up wind fences and landfill coverings; follow OSHA PPE requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
