Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is seeking laborers to perform general construction tasks, site clean-up, and traffic control at our facilities. You will operate basic equipment, assist with set-up and fueling, and support drivers and crews in daily duties.

The role requires reliable outdoor work in varying weather and adherence to OSHA safety standards. Applicants should be 18+, have basic labor experience, and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• 1 year ofLabor experience is preferred.
• Able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds and work outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general construction tasks and site cleanup.
• Direct traffic and guide vehicles and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, employees, and management
• Perform vehicle and equipment cleaning and basic setup.

Essential Job Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

• General construction activities such as shoveling, lifting, pulling
• Perform traffic control such as guiding vehicles and equipment to appropriate areas, placing signs and cones for vehicle direction
• Effective communication with drivers, employees, and management via hand held radios and CBs
• Perform site clean-up
• Clean up of vehicles and equipment as needed
• Driving employees to their work stations as needed
• Fuel vehicles and equipment
• Set-up/ secure wind fences and landfill coverings
• Follow OSHA safety standards and wear required PPE
• Perform other duties assigned by manager as necessary

Requirements And Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States
• 1 year of relevant labor experience is preferred
• Able to work in an outdoor environment on a constant basis while being exposed to variable weather conditions, temperatures, chemicals, dust, fumes, smells, and loud noises.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds
• Experience operating equipment is a plus
• Valid Driver's License preferred
