Job summary

Mount Auburn Cemetery seeks a Visitor Educator to engage diverse audiences through walking tours, educational programs, and visitor services. You will interpret history, landscape, horticulture, architecture, and culture while connecting the Cemetery’s past with the present.

You’ll research archives, develop content, and assist at the Welcome Center. The role requires comfort speaking to groups, strong writing/research skills, and the ability to work outdoors, weekends, and evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience speaking to groups or leading educational programs.
• Excellent verbal communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to translate specialized information for general audiences.
• Comfort working outdoors and on some weekends/evenings.

Responsibilities

• Lead public and private walking tours for diverse audiences.
• Develop accurate interpretive content from archives and resources.
• Support Welcome Center operations and visitor services.
• Collaborate with staff/volunteers on programs and tours.
• Translate complex topics into engaging, accessible content.
