Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) seeks a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Morrison, CO to perform snow plowing, operate heavy equipment, and maintain roadways. The role includes on-call duties, weather-related overtime, and collaboration with a patrol team.

Qualifications

• Two years of physical labor or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Must possess valid CDL Class A or B with no air brakes restriction.
• Willing to respond to emergencies outside regular hours and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and operating heavy equipment such as tandem dump trucks, loaders and tractors.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor repairs.
• Installing and repairing guardrails, highway markers, signs and lighting.
• Setting out signs and cones for traffic control and responding to weather emergencies.
• Shoveling gravel, sand, and roadway debris as part of daily duties.
• Following safety guidance and wearing proper PPE.
