Job summary

Gilchrist County Solid Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.

The role involves operating heavy equipment to support County operations, transporting waste, and acting as an attendant at recycling sites. A Florida CDL is preferred, and the position requires weekend work; retirement benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good customer service skills.
• Heavy lifting is required.
• Florida Class A CDL license (preferred) with copy submitted with application.
• Must be able to work on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to support County operations.
• Transport waste and serve as an attendant at recycling sites.
• Perform additional duties as needed to meet department requirements.
