Job summary

Hanover County Government seeks a qualified Solid Waste Equipment Operator to perform heavy equipment operations and waste collection tasks. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment/vehicles such as hook lift truck, tractor-trailer, tractor, track, or wheel loader.
• Hauls waste and recyclables.
• Performs drainage easement and basin maintenance and repairs.
• Provides customer services, such as scale operation.
• Assists with repairs and installation of compactors as needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Responds to emergencies as required.
