Job summary

Gloucester County is seeking a full-time Groundskeeper to maintain county grounds, work outdoors independently, and engage with the community. The role involves a variety of landscaping tasks and operating power and hand equipment to keep lawns, shrubs, and flower beds in a presentable condition.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years landscaping experience, and a valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting county standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years landscaping experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Open and close county facilities, hoist and take down flags daily.
• Load/unload custodial supplies and transport equipment.
• Landscape lawns and mulch beds; replace topsoil, grade, seed and fertilize.
• Identify and treat weeds, pests, and turf damage as needed.
• Prepare logs/reports (inspections, equipment, etc.).
• Order supplies and track inventory.
• Perform custodial duties (moving furniture, changing bulbs).
• Perform snow removal as needed, including after-hours and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned.
