Job summary

Progressive Cleaning is seeking a dependable Janitor / Groundskeeper to maintain a clean, safe, and inviting outdoor and indoor retail environment in Rockledge, FL. You will handle daily parking lot upkeep, restroom sanitation, litter removal, and light maintenance tasks across common areas and service zones.

Ideal candidates have janitorial or groundskeeping experience, and are capable of operating street sweepers, pressure washers, blowers, and a utility vehicle with training provided.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or groundskeeping experience preferred, especially in retail or outdoor environments.
• Ability to operate equipment such as a street sweeper, pressure washer, blower, and utility vehicle (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Available for weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours during special events or peak retail seasons.

Responsibilities

• The Janitor / Groundskeeper is responsible for keeping the property clean, safe, and inviting from open to close.
• Daily parking lot and sidewalk maintenance, litter and trash removal, restroom upkeep, and detail cleaning tasks across common areas and service areas.
• Empty, clean, and relining trash and recycling receptacles; restock and disinfect as needed.
• Check and service public restrooms, stock products, and clean fixtures.
• Wipe down benches, tables, and outdoor seating areas; keep them presentable.
• Remove debris from planters and landscaped areas; maintain signage and water features.
• Sweep and blow debris from parking lots and sidewalks; pressure wash weekly as scheduled.
• Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including street sweeper, pressure washer, blowers, and a utility vehicle.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and teardown for property events; respond promptly to spills or emergencies.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or property damage to the Site Supervisor immediately.
