Job summary

City of Largo is seeking a grounds maintenance worker to perform heavy manual labor and semi-skilled tasks across parks and city properties. You will operate mowers, edgers, and other equipment under supervision, follow safety procedures, and help maintain landscapes and park facilities.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, two years of grounds maintenance experience, a valid Florida driver’s license, and knowledge of landscape tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years' grounds maintenance experience preferred.
• One year training/experience with fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides.
• Valid Florida driver's license or transfer within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaped medians and city properties; operate mowers, edgers and other equipment.
• Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, edging, pruning, planting and irrigation tasks.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions; document site conditions as needed.
• Assist with park maintenance, event setups, and public information when required.
• Oversee proper handling of tools and equipment; support overtime for city events.
