Job summary

REI Co-op in Birmingham, AL is hiring a Store Sales Specialist to help customers find the right gear and share product knowledge. You’ll process transactions, promote memberships, and keep merchandise stocked and neatly displayed on the floor.

Ideal candidates enjoy helping others, communicate clearly, and work well as part of a team. Prior retail experience is preferred; flexibility to work a range of shifts is expected.

• Store-level retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions about products, memberships, and tickets.
• Maintain visual standards with store management and merchandising.
• Participate in REI Sales & Service Training.
• Support store pick-up, including receiving and processing products.
• Follow loss prevention and safety procedures.
• Maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Additional duties as assigned.
