Job summary

Cornerstone Utility Engineering is seeking a Field Technician to support field data collection for electrical distribution projects. This entry-level role involves outdoor work, standing between utility poles, taking measurements, photos, and maps to support engineering design.

You will wear PPE, follow safety procedures, travel across California, and work independently with supervision during training, aiming to grow into planner development within our field operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid California driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicle.
• Willingness to travel throughout California.
• Able to lift 15–20 lbs regularly.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect field data for electrical distribution facilities, including measurements of attachment heights, span distances, and angles.
• Utilize PPE, safe driving practices, and situational awareness to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
• Submit organized, detailed data for each project, including maps, field notes, and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as digital cameras, measuring tools, and PPE.
• Represent Cornerstone professionally in the field, interacting with customers and stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with the project leadership team on a daily basis.
• Work independently and safely without direct supervision.
