Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services is seeking Field Data Technicians to collect detailed outdoor data on telecom and electric facilities. The role involves hiking between poles to capture measurements, with on-site training provided by Osmose and regular travel. Most work is outdoors, with overnight trips as needed.

Candidate should be comfortable with weather, lifting 15–20 lbs, and using GPS maps. The position offers weekly pay, bonuses where applicable, and a truck/vehicle allowance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background preferred.
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications and/or electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Knowledge of pole design including NESC requirements and general safety practices is a plus.
• Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather and lift 15 to 20 lbs regularly.
• Basic proficiency with computers and reading GPS maps.
• Ability to follow process specifications in a high-quality, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to travel and work outside in variable terrain and weather.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.
• Present a professional appearance and attitude.
• Minimum 1 year of outdoor work-related experience
• Minimum 1 year working in a role that required safety protocols (details)
• Minimum 6 months in a quality-controlled environment (details)
• Minimum 6 months traveling to various work locations with overnight stays
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

• Work in an outdoor environment to collect field data supporting engineering and design of fiber optic facilities.
• Submit organized, detailed data for each project including maps, field notes and digital images.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as tablet, digital camera and measuring tools.
• Represent Osmose professionally in the field.
• Communicate daily with the project management team.
• Work safely and independently with minimal supervision.
