Job summary

The City of Naperville is seeking an Equipment Operator to support the Department of Public Works. This role performs skilled and semi-skilled manual labor, operates light and heavy equipment, and participates in construction and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and related facilities.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of general maintenance or construction experience, a High School diploma or GED, and a Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of general maintenance or construction experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Class A CDL with Air Brake and Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain within 3 months; clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy equipment for streets, sidewalks, and related facilities maintenance.
• Perform concrete rehab/install and assist with snow removal and emergency duties.
• Work outdoors year-round; stand-by after hours and weekends as needed.
