Job summary

The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs at Fort Indiantown Gap seeks an Equipment Operator A to support maintenance and daily operations. You will operate equipment outdoors, assist with projects, and contribute to mission readiness as part of a team keeping the installation functioning smoothly.

Typical duties include operating vehicles, performing grounds maintenance, snow removal, tool use, safety compliance, and basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more.
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and machinery for transport, construction, and grounds work.
• Use mowers, trimmers, and tools to complete routine outdoor maintenance tasks.
• Participate in snow operations during regular hours and assigned shift work.
• Perform labor tasks using hand and power tools while selecting proper tools for each job.
• Follow safety procedures, maintain awareness of hazards, and use required protective equipment.
• Assist mechanics and complete minor maintenance tasks on equipment.
