Zusammenfassung

TMEIC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate outdoor PV and energy storage inverter systems, ensuring reliability in harsh outdoor environments and manufacturing readiness.

You will create 3D CAD models, layouts, and BOMs for inverter assemblies, define mechanical architecture with cross-functional teams, and verify designs through structural, thermal, and environmental testing. This role requires travel up to 20% and collaboration with global teams.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3 years of mechanical design for power electronics, outdoor equipment, or related systems.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, NX or equivalent.
• Experience with multi-physics simulations (FEA/CFD) using tools such as COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell, etc.
• Understanding of structural design, materials, and manufacturing processes for sheet metal, casting, machining, etc.
• Understanding of thermal management for power electronics.
• Familiarity with outdoor environmental design requirements (IP/NEMA).
• Proven collaboration with clients, suppliers, and internal/external teams; strong communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% as needed.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop, and validate mechanical systems for outdoor PV and ESS inverter platforms.
• Design enclosures, structural frames, mounting systems, internal layouts and packaging for inverter platforms.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation for inverter assemblies.
• Define mechanical architecture, clearances, accessibility, and serviceability with cross-functional teams.
• Design outdoor-rated enclosures addressing IP/NEMA, ventilation, sealing, corrosion, and environmental factors.
• Integrate cooling components, airflow paths, ducting, heat exchangers, and fans with thermal and electrical teams.
• Perform structural, vibration, tolerancing, manufacturability, and thermal-stress evaluations.
• Coordinate prototype builds, environmental testing, and validation activities.
• Analyze field issues and implement design improvements for reliability.
• Apply DFMA principles to improve fabrication, assembly, localization, and lifecycle costs.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to proposals and client-facing activities.
