Legacy Engineering, P.C. is a small, woman-owned civil engineering firm headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, seeking a Construction Field Technician to join our CMT team.

This outdoor role involves performing field tests on soil, concrete, and other materials at active construction sites, with comprehensive training provided. No prior testing experience is required, and we offer industry certifications such as ACI, OSHA, and VDOT.

Qualifications

• No prior testing experience required; we provide training and pay for industry certifications.
• Willing to travel to sites in the Fredericksburg region.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather.
• Able to lift up to 85 pounds and stay active throughout the day.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Travel to construction sites in the Fredericksburg region to perform field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials
• Work alongside contractors, engineers, and inspectors on active construction projects
• Perform basic field tests using specialized equipment and industry procedures
• Document test results and site observations using a tablet or field reports
• Communicate with project managers and field supervisors regarding testing needs or site conditions
• Maintain and properly use testing equipment while following safety standards
