Job summary

S&S Paving & Construction is seeking a dependable Construction Laborer to assist with paving, grading, excavation, and general site construction activities. The role emphasizes working safely with a crew to meet project standards and deadlines, often outdoors in varying weather.

The position requires physical labor, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to follow instructions. Training and opportunities for overtime and advancement are available within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in construction or outdoor labor preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and safety guidelines.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• CDL is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with asphalt paving, patching, milling, and roadway construction.
• Prepare sites, grading, excavation, and cleanup.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Assist equipment operators, foremen, and other crew members as needed.
• Set up and maintain traffic control devices and work zone safety measures.
• Shovel, rake, compact, and spread asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
• Clean and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Perform general labor duties and other tasks assigned by supervisors.
